Claude Cormier new Member of the TWRC Design Review Panel

January 2010, Claude Cormier become a new Member of the Design Review Panel at  the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation (TWRC). Toronto's revitalized waterfront he's characterized by his excellence in urban design. What is built on the waterfront, from the buildings to streets to parks and public art, will set new standards for architecture and public space across the city. To help achieve and uphold theses standards, Waterfront Toronto (TWRC) created the Waterfront Design Review Panel in March 2005. The Panel is made up six Architects, four Landscape Architects, two Town Planners, one engineer and one member of the TWRC. The panel will provide objective, professional advice and contribute to a culture of quality by signaling to developers and designers that high quality design is a critical consideration for the development of Toronto's waterfront.

The project HtO, Urban beach in Toronto received an Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape (ASLA).  The team of this project is: Claude Cormier, architectes paysagistes inc., Janet Rosenberg + Associates, Hariri Pontarini Architects.

Nomination by the Ordre National du Québec

The Ordre National du Québec will present to Claude Cormier the highest distinction given by the Quebec government, “Knight of the Order”. The title is bestowed upon distinguished citizens who have contributed in an exemplary fashion to the development of Québec in all fields of human activity on a regional, national and international scale. Premier, Jean Charest will confer the distinction to Claude Cormier at the Hôtel du Parlement in Quebec city June 17.
