Inspired by the potential to cultivate an outstanding grape in the rich soils on this Niagara Peninsula property, the artisan vintners behind this project aim to establish a unique wine as well as an experience for visitors to the vineyard. The vision is to situate a winery, small hotel, restaurant, and shop at the centre of the vineyard through which visitors transition en route from the highway. Stakes for the vines will be coloured to create a chromatic effect across the expanse of the entire property, visible after pruning in winter. The original homestead is retained, in tact, as an island floating in the vineyard. Large specimen walnut, sycamore, and red pine trees establish the beginnings of a forested patch that will be expanded by the planting in the parking area and building courtyards of additional sycamore, as well as red oak and tulip tree. |
