Wild and domesticated nature are powerfully juxtaposed in this private garden. A clearing in the Laurentian wilderness creates an opening for deliberately tamed shrub clusters, planted in a dot matrix reminiscent of a Damien Hirst painting. The disjuncture between contrasting realities is manifest in the broken line of the sidewalk, designed to accommodate future additions to the country house.
