Founded by the McGill Women’s Association in the 1960s, the Roslyn Robertson Garden is maintained by volunteers and is the source of material for the group’s annual dried herb and flower fundraiser. Construction of the new Franco Bellini building forced the planting beds to be moved to an adjacent area. We were inspired by the leaves of the false acacia trees on the new site, and we redesigned the garden as set of seven discreet plots, linked by a simple pathway, which, as a whole, forms the image of an oversized acacia leaf. Passers-by wandering through the peaceful campus at the foot of Mount Royal just might chance upon this secret garden. |
